Mirerani Tanzanite Marathon

And you thought Tanzanite was just a gemstone and for jewelry lovers! Well not any longer. Tanzania is hosting the Mirerani Tanzanite Marathon on January 27, 2019. Are you a marathon runner? Do you love Tanzanite? Then this is the Marathon for you!

They are expecting more than 2,000 runners this year. Coming from not only Tanzania, but all over the world. According to Mnyalu, athletes from Manyara, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Mtwara, Dar es Salaam, Tanga and Morogoro regions have confirmed their participation in the 42 kilometre race. Some countries that will also be helping and having athletes run include Kenya, Cameroon, The Netherlands, United States of America and the United Kingdom. This should be very exciting!

What else? This race is not just for adults. They have said there will also be a five kilometre race for children as well.

While this race should help overall Tanzania tourism, the big push is for it to promote the beautiful stone, Tanzanite, which this country is known for, and what we personally are known for. If you have read our bio, you know that the owner, Steve Moriarty, personally travels to Tanzania every few years. While he won't be able to attend the Mirerani Tanzanite Marathon, he is looking forward to watching it online.
